Yes'em ..

   old friends is always best,

'less you can catch a new one that's

fit to make an old one out of.

  -Sarah Orne Jewett

A little sappy I know, but this so describes the way I felt on Friday night ...

when I had dinner with Becky from Where Life Takes You , her husband John, and Tyler ... the cutest short guy I've met in quite a while.

We met at Legal Seafoods, a place that Becky was eager to go to, it seems that it originated in Boston where she's from. The food was good and the company could not have been better, all in all a great choice.

The intuitive parents that they are, they must have know that Tyler's attention span would be relatively short at the restaurant, especially after an all day adventure at Lion Country Safari,  so they invited me to pack my bathing suit and head back with them to the Embassy Suites on Deerfield Beach after dinner, so we could swim with Tyler.

It's been raining here for well over a month, Friday night was no exception but we stayed in the pool for a long time anyway. It was very interesting to talk face to face with someone about the goings on here in J-Land.

Yes ... we did talk about many of you as if you were among our closest friends, and you are in a way. I love this community and it's so much fun getting tomeet a few of you.

After we dried off, Becky and I sat out on their balcony overlooking the ocean and continued talking and talking and talking, while John and Tyler kept each other entertained with video games ... BTW, Tyler is quite the video game champ even at 3 1/2 years old.

It was such a laid back and low keyed evening, I can't think of one thing I would have rather have been doing than hanging out by the ocean, creating real life friendships with people I've only read about here in J-Land.

It was nearly 1:00 am by the time I finally left, I could have sat there and talked all night. BTW ... Tyler was still going strong. They did head back to New Jersey yesterday, one more reason to start thinking about a trip to the Jersey Shore. Three other good reasons can be found Here, <- Here <- and Here. <-

I've been really busy lately and it's been very hard to keep Rain updated, I miss all of you and have plans to do a little catching up.

I'm so jealous! That's the second J-lander you've managed to meet lately! Sometimes it seems like the people I know thru J-land are more real than the people in the 3-D world <LOL>

I am sad that I never got to meet Lori from Lori's Laurels despite the fact she lived so close to me! One of those things you just think you will some day get around to and then its too late.  (moved last month to IN) I think that if I ever get the chance to meet some one from J-Land I would do the same thing, spend all day talking about J-Land! lol!!! How fun!

Yay.  What fun.  When I opened your journal I saw Becky's face first and I was like, 'wait, that's Becky.'  Took me by surprise.  I'm headed there next - but I thought I'd gone there first.  ::double take::

Great pictures.  Sounds like the perfect way to spend time with friends.  I'm all about low-key.  It's so exciting to read about all the JLand meetings.

Isn't it amazing how quickly time passes when you're getting caught up, face to face?  :)

Lovely recap of our fun evening together! I am going to link to this in my journal, of course, since I haven't gotten around to sharing the details from our trip. I just did my visual entry and went to bed. LOL

I think it's fantastic that Y'all got to spend an evening together and I am jealous just like the rest of J-Land. LOL!  Hmmm, Wish I could have been a fly on the wall and heard some of THAT conversation.  It sure is nice to hear of get togethers like this between J-Landers.

Each j-land meeting that I've had has been more delightful than I could have imagined.  I'm not surprised that you and Becky (and her family) had a wonderful time together.

Now...don't tease!!  I hope you make it up this way REAL soon!!!!

Awesome! I would have so loved to be part of that meeting. It's great how the friendships built here can transfer to the real world. :-) ---Robbie
