1. Why isn't there an easy to follow evacuation plan for a large number of Americans after a major disaster like this one?
2. Why would they add to the chaos by trying to place 25,000 people in one place, (like Houston)? Dreading the fallout from that decision!
3. Isn't there room and resources in every corner of this country for smaller more manageable numbers of evacuees? I don't think it has to be this hard!
OK, having said that ... maybe I can go to sleep now!

Yes, it seems very strange, I saw that on our news and there should have been plans in place for a major disasters, there should not have been any delays in getting them help.
Those three questions are keeping a lot of people awake.....Ally
I've asked these same questions Coy.
This is just one big clusterfuck.

because of this, there will be lessons learned....
Plans will come now, girl, let's hope!

further proof that "Homeland Security" is all smoke and mirrors.
Katrina could have been a bio bomb. We would have been just as unprepared.
So, thank goodness Americans don't have to rely on our government.
We, the people, will pull together and help each other get through.
My husband's club has raised $500. for relief. It's not much, but they're a bunch of broke folk. Keep the faith.

The people of America are still the greatest people in the world! The problem is, given all our freedoms, we choose lousy leaders, especially, the current one. rich
p.s. My heart goes out to all the homeless, and I agree it would be nice to "scatter" small groups about, however this is impossible logistically.
p.s.s. Isn't there a "little" ranch in Crawford, TX, that could house a large number of victims? OOPS, I forgot, they only left the poor ones without help!
When has this country ever had to deal with a natural disaster of this proportion? I think everyone that criticizes our President, government, and local law enforcement should have to walk a mile in their shoes - anybody think they dould have handled it better?
I laugh at our hurricane evacuation routes from the coast. As if every SUV is going to fit on the few roads leading out of our area. Crap happens. People die. It's sad but it's true.
