Still inspired by a most artsy friend ...

Had a little time to visit an old friend from J Land (now at blogger) today and found this entry --> Glinka 4 Sale Was quite happy to find him still searching for ways to express himself artistically.
Reading his entry, reminded me of a Alb/Glinka inspired  entry that I posted here in Rain about a year ago when J-Land was still J-Land. I'm reposting it with comments below. And ... I think I'll work on something new and artsy while I have a few minutes to myself. Thanks for continuing to inspire me, my most artsy friend.
They say that imitation ...

is the greatest form of flattery, so ...

there is one notorious J-land artist who might know exactly what that feels like once he takes a look at the windmills in the mind of this wild eyed, slightly troubled guy wearing his bow tie and hankie in the midst of bright and cheerful yellow colored surroundings.

Have you ever written a story, created a character in a play or painted a picture solely from your interpretation of someone else point of view? That's what I did today (I know, I need to get a life).

I've been playing around with colors & collages for a few day's now and after exchanging E-mail about different perceptions of art with a friend that views the world so much differently than I do (sort of), I was inspired to create the gent you see above.

All in fun,  this is my interpretation of colors and thoughts through the eyes of my friend! I have nothing more to say today, my one day weekend is almost over.

                                      Good night all

LOL-- I like that image too!  I need a scarf for the throat-window though, for when it gets chilly...

hugs, Albert

I knew it was Albert before I got to the text of your entry. Very creative and a very good interpretation of one of our more notorious J-landers.

Looks like it could be Stained Glass even.  Coy, this is so Coy!  I see the artist in you blooming!

Hope you had a great weekend!  Thanks for keeping up with my journal when you get those little moments.  I have been bad at J-hopping, but hopefully I will get back to it.

Ciao... kate

Why is there a window in his throat??  I like Thomas Kinkade, personally.  ;-)

I thought it was a self-portrait of DALI or Avery Schrieber.

Hi Albert!

Isn't this Albert's journal you are referring to? I think I got his journal from your list of journals. Art is in the eyes of the beholder they say. and is it life imitating art or art imitating life?Either way its very interesting to say the least. something to make you go Hmmmmmmmmm!!! Great job Coy.

I also think it looks like stained glass. Very clever.  Oh, to be artistic!

Hi Coy: so sweet to see this entry!!  I'm glad I finally stopped by, I've been so bad about keeping up with everyone...

I've been thinking of you lately because I've had reason to use that wonderful meditiation CD you made for me way back when.

I'm going to send you and email with a .jpg of the window/throat drawing.  Great to hear from you,

many hugs, Albert

That reminded me of J-land's heyday. Before the dreaded BOA/banner fiasco!

Hey girl!  So you're an art patron now ~ just like Peggy Guggenheim.  How wonderful!  And you couldn't have picked a better artist to support.  Congratulations to both of you.  I'll just say it ~ it's inspiring, that's what it is.    Generosity and creativity beget good things.  Always.

PS ~ are you on blogspot, as well?  I had to 'sign in' to post a comment here; is that a new thing?  I just never seem to know what's going on anymore...    :)

Hi Coy!

I missed your tribute to Albert the first time and am glad I didn't this time. Although, it took me nearly the whole month to see it. :-)

I'll have to try that sometime, try to create something through the eyes of someone else. Thanks!

:-) ---Robbie
