Incognito

been reading my journal and not leaving a comment!

It always feels a little awkward when you find out that someone you know has been reading your journal for a while, especially if they have never told you!

Today when I was leaving work, Who said to me "put some new stuff in your journal ... I read it all the time!"

Hmmm ...if you read it all the time, then why haven't you ever left a comment, I asked!

My hit counter is nearing the 20,000 mark so I know that there must be a few people that visit here incognito. To that I say ... welcome to Dancing In The Rain, visit often, check out some of my favorite journals listed in the sidebar if you get time and please leave a comment so I will know you were here! Ahhh ... yeah, that goes for you too, Who!

Anyone else out there wonder who all of those incognito visitors are in your journal?

I always wonder!  Funny story about that though!
I was at the vet's office the other day and one
of the vet tech's told me she had been reading my
journal for a long time.  I was like "What?"
She said "Yeah, I knew it was yours when I first
started reading it!  Who else would have a girlfriend
named Scarlett, and a housefull of animals!"
LMAO
Love ya!

Honestly.....this is the first time I ever read your journal, but it wont be my last (provided I can find my way back here).. I don't know how I came across it because I'm new to this and can't find my way around very well yet. Anyway...I just started my journal. My first entry went in today and now that I read your journal mine seems kinda dull. I will work on it tho!Sometime you might want to stop by and leave a comment for me too. (my counter is at 4!)

I hear ya girl.  There are family members who've been reading me for over a year and I'm still finding out about it (from different family members).  It's a bit of a strange thing.  But then again, the world *does* have access to our journals.  ;)

Don't let the wallflowers be discouraging.  People are returning to read you because of who you are, how you write, what you share, etc.  Keep it up. :)  xo

I think this is a common occurence in the blog universe.  Some people are just born "peepers".  I for one, do not want anyone I know (i.e. Co-workers) to read my journal.  I don't know why, guess I just would feel too exposed.  I like to keep my facade of mystery intact!

I just clicked it to 20028... I think I have commented in your journal once before... But there are alot of journals I read that I don't comment. It's scary I guess. You feel like you know the person from reading their journal but then when you go to comment you think well I know them but they don't know me. LOL. But now that I have been getting clicks in my journal, I wonder too, Who was that?. So I am trying to be more adventerous and leave a comment or two... Have a great weekend. Linda

LOL... yeah, well, unlike some people -- sniff, sniff -- I DO leave comments.  Hmph.  Granted, I might not leave them as often as I would like, but I do leave them.  LOL  I don't really think that makes me better than the lurkers, as I'm still a stalker, just trying to figure out how I can infiltrate your private life and send you toe-licking emails.  :P

Speaking of all this, everytime my dad mentions reading my journal, I get the strangest feeling.  It's quite different when REAL people are reading you... or maybe that's just me.  Hmm...

Hm, I didn't even get an alert for this one - I just backpedaled from the current one. But you already know I read you!

I have learned that people read and don't comment because there are times in which they feel that their comments are inadequate. I am nearing 10,000 on my counter, and i know that it isn't the same 20-25 people reading all the time. Sometimes comment is nice, but it's self-serving just for it's own sake.

Heh...maybe if my counter was working I would wonder more. I know I have a few readers who never comment (they emailed or IM'd me at one time or another tho). Ah well. Maybe we have readers who just have nothing to say. LOL

ok I confess it's me I have been reading lol. I leave comments most of the time but like tonight I only left a couple out of all that I read. some nights are comment nights some are just reading nights and some are new entries for me nights all in the mood and what I have experienced through the day and night at work. I enjoy all that I read

Yah, the incognito readers are interesting.  I do get freaked occasionally when someone in my "real life" mentions something from my journal.  It's like, they get to peek into my windows even though I can't peek into theirs.

Do you think all us bloggers with public journals are exhibitionists on some level?

Thats funny, I get that at the firehouse all the time. People I didnt think were reading asking me questions about things that are going on. A little creepy. ;)

Yep, isn't it strange? You know that there are more people reading cause of the counter, but who are they??? <LOL> Over at Chase-n-Kids she did an entry that asked all of the people to leave a comment if they were reading... She got a BUNCH! She's doing entries with 5 or so Journals highlighting them. I though it was kind of neat.

There's quiet a few journals I read that I don't leve a comment in. It's not because I don't want to, but if they have a lot of graphics, it takes forever to load on dial up and I'm so impatient. :o)

I READ your journal!  I don't comment each and every time, but lots!  (probably not as much as I should).  Sorry.
I enjoy your love for life...in many ways!   nancy  : )

I know how you feel.  I am always shocked when I hear from someone who reads me. I really don't get that many comments....

I don't have any comments in mine, but i just started it.  I only have 30 hits, but i think they all came from me.  I just want one comment to know how i'm doing.  I don't care if people read all the time, i just want an idea on if anyone shares my thoughts or my pain or anything.  How'd you get sooo many pics on yours? Mine take forever.  You're probably on high speed or something. I go one pic at a time!  Yours Looks great though!
