The search continues ... well, sort of!

I knew you guys would come through! It's so great that with just the mention of trouble finding the right visuals of fairies, hobgoblins and sprite's, so many of you responded with words of direction and advice ... what great friends I've found here!

BTW ... Ryanagi, thanks for the links! Lifewrites, was that a double dare I heard from you? Suzypwr, have you checked with Hairball yet?

I must say that it comes as no surprise to me to hear so many of you comment on how books, old and new call to you and how you get your own amazing visuals from the written word ... I do so wish that I was more like that. I will make a conscious effort to listen closer to see if the tattered old ones call to me.

BTW ... I did check out the little book photographed in the previous entry, yep, the one with the little dog-eared yellow pages and teeny tiny little print. I love the story (as always), however ... I am still on the hunt for the perfect visuals.

I met a friend at Barnes and Noble after work last night, it might have been a great opportunity to continue my quest for A Mid Summer Night's Dream if we had not spent the entire evening in constant chatter at the bookstores coffee shop! Disappointed? Not on your life ... first things first you know!

Amidst the chatter we did take a little time to check out a book called Blink: The Power Of Thinking Without Thinking by Malcom Gladwell. The book is about slicing the thought process and relying more on our own instant intuitions when reacting to a new idea, reading a stranger or recognizing danger.

I didn't buy the book last night but think that maybe I should have. Ahhh ... an excuse to go back to one of my favorite places. I love Barnes and Noble, especially in the company of a close friend.

More about Shakespear's much loved fairy tail and why the sudden interest next time.

                               Happy Monday all!

Glad you got such a great response. You really have me intrigued now as to why you are so into this.  I went to Regents Park when I was a teenager and saw an open air production of Midsummer Night's Dream, it was wonderful.

Yes, Coy. That was a double dare! I hope you find what you are looking for, I can completely understand your interest in Midsummer.  I LOVE Shakespeare!  I am part of a theatre company here in the Bay Area called Shady Shakespeare.  Those of you in CA, come on out! It's FREE!  www.shadyshakes.org  -lifewrites

I heard the author of Blink on NPR.  It does sound like an interesting book.  Like you...I prefer a new book with larger print.  For me...it's the over 40 eyes!!

Hairball was here this morning, but was sleeping on the loveseat. I have no idea why, since there is a full-sized sofa on the other side of the room and her bed is upstairs. She was still sleeping when I left. I will write myself a note. I hope I gave the book to her and didn't donate it. I know it's what you want!

I really need the book about intuition.  Maybe i'll go look it up there.  I too, am a fan of the bookstore, and someday, when i am brave enough to do more than journaling, i might venture out on a kidless night and seek that one! Thanks.  (and thanks for looking at mine the other day, that was really sweet...)

I'm with you.  I love B&N and Borders.  I know they're corporate overlords, but there's something about being surrounded by so many books -- with coffee on hand.  Ahhh...it's all so comforting somehow.  And you know me, I'm not an avid book reader.  I just love books.

That book you mentioned (thinking without thinking) sounds like what we all do when we journal.  Stream-of-consciousness.  Hmmm

It is SO important to act on your intuition without thinkingabout it---it may very well save your life!  I highly recommend a book called The Gift of Fear, which talks about this...

Did you try the childrens section?

The problem withreading plays is that playwrights, unlike novelists, rely on stage visuals. My advice--see the play. There must be a good film version.

I love B & N... not quite as much as I love Borders... (I think they have a better selection).. but yes... coffee.. friends.. chat... who needs books???

Arent they just for looks anyhow...  **WinK**

Its been about 2 weeks since I have spent some time in my neighborhood B&N, so i am up for a trip soon.... just have to kick this cold first.

~Have a great day....
