Stalking Ugly

I see these guy's on my way to work every day and I know that most would say "That's one ugly bird." To that I simply say "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

I wanted a good photo so I found myself moving in quietly on my unsuspecting subject and waiting with the patience of a saint for a good shot.

I tried snapping a few shots from a distance and finally figured to get what I wanted I would have to move in much closer.

The stork did not become overly alarmed but did slowly start strolling in the opposite direction. I followed him for quite a distance until I finally got a few photo's I liked and I must say it did feel a little like stalking, yep "stalking ugly." LOL

Wonderful photo. Well done you for getting such a great shot. Not the prettiest of things I agree. We have nothing like that over here.

great shot you got there!  I don't think he's ugly at all!  beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder!

Excellent picture!  It's been years since I've seen a stork.  The stork has a face only a mother could love and then sometimes she has trouble.  LOL

and to think these birds are responsible for delivering babies in alot of nursery rhymes. lol who ever decided to put them in truly believes that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Great Pic!!!

Funny, I would have thought this was an albino Flamingo before I thought it was a Stork. I guess the only ones I've ever seen were cartoon renditions. I thought they always showed them with the big hanging area under their beaks. Either way, it's a great photo, even ugly likes the attention. :-) ---Robbie
