Hmmm ...

The US cutting it's reliance on oil ...

Fighting poverty and disease abroad ...

Spreading freedom around the world ...

Thunderous rounds of applause and standing ovations ...

Domestic Agenda ...

and what about

Two of my Dad's favorite people turning 60 this year?

Any comment?

add on >    BTW ... Two of his Dad's favorite people turning 60 this year are George W and Bill Clinton. The look on Hillary Clinton's face when he said that was priceless. Didn't anybody else notice?

That's really the only part I saw. My Brother in Law had it on (in Lieu of Commander in Chief) but we were busy with pie talk through most of it.

In our family when something is not open for group conversation, someone will say "ahem ... that's not pie talk" that happens less often when it's just the three of us. I love Spending Tuesday evenings at my sister's house.

Wait - I didn't really pay any attn to what the prez said because I only read the news, I don't listen to it and I skipped over that, but did he say he wanted to cut our reliance on oil or reliance on oil from the middle east?

I didn't watch.  So, I'll just say Happy Birthday to Dad's friends :-)

Happy birthday to your Dad's friends.
I avoided the speech because I knew I'd wind up very angry and that my husband and I would exchange words over it. My question is just what in the hell is $2400 a year in an insurance savings account going to accomplish against a long term illness or even a hospital stay?

I did watch, most of it, before I got the hankering to throw my telly out the window then I just switched.

"The US cutting it's reliance on oil ... "

Sounds like I already covered this: http://journals.aol.com/luvmort/MortimersCafe/entries/2576

I hate to put a damper on your parade but there's another side to those coins. Though I still believe in Santa Claus, Peace Corps, Red Cross and Angelina Jolie. Who could disagree with people turning 60? That one, I'll be clapping until my hands are sore. How ya doin, lovely lady?

Take care

I believe HE has done it again! Commander-in-Chief is going off the air(barring a miracle) after a few more shows in March!! I think HE saw an administration being run with honesty & integrity and HE knew he had to get it off the air ASAP!! I'd LOL if it wasn't so darn sickening! rich
