I spent most of the day on the 4th in the swamp. A quiet day alone observing the wonders of nature through the lense of my camera.
Watching these pileated woodpeckers was an extra special treat. There were 3 of them. More swampy photos to come.

I have woodpeckers come into my garden and I just love to watch them they hang on the peanut feeders and seem to be eating most of the day ~ Ally

Stunning, do you know I have never seen a Woodpeck in the flash so to speak, only in photos. They are not found in our little corner of the UK although there are lots over here.http://journals.aol.co.uk/jeanno43/JeannettesJottings/

I saw these amazing birds in my brother's yard when I was visiting him in Texas. Gorgeous!This must have been a wonderful day. :)
I saw one of these years ago in my yard and I haven't seen one since. They are magnificent.
