My Mother in Law ...

has lived a long life filled with enormous turmoil. She also has had emphysema for the 24+ years that I have known her. On Wednesday she died and now Mandy has gone to Louisiana to say good-bye.

The two of us have not been very close over the past few years while I was going through my less than amicable (to put it lightly) divorce with her son. Still ... she is the Grandmother of my children and they love her.

Vernon Short ... may you rest now in peace.

BTW ... as you can see the Amaryllises are blooming out side the back door, a sure sign that it's spring. With such beautiful sunny weather year round here we have to look for reminders ;-)

I am sorry for the loss to your family. It's hard to lose even ex-relatives we are not close to, when we have known them so long.

I'm sorry for this loss in your family.  It's hard when someone who has been in your life for so long is suddenly gone.  I will be thinking of you and Mandy.

Your amaryllis is absolutely breathtaking.

Sorry to hear about that.

Spring. In Florida. Don't be absurd!
