Hard Rock Christmas

I had a night out with the girls last night. Yep ... you guessed it, we went to the Hard Rock Casino. The place looked great, it was all dressed up for Christmas.

Have I ever mentioned that I am not much of a gambler?  Despite the fact that you may have seen several Hard Rock entries in Dancing in the Rain this year and then there are the Texas Holdem' games at my sister's ... oh and that Caribbean Cruise I went on with work this year. Hmmm ...

Ok, so I do a little bit of gambling but it's for entertainment purposes only. My gambling strategy is pretty simple...

Know how much you are going to play with before you walk through the door, not usually more than the price of a nice dinner and a show, ahhh ... additional visits to the ATM machine are not good, forgo the free drinks, only raise your bets when you are ahead, If lady luck leaves you in the middle of a winning streak then walk away from the table.

Oh yea, another strategy I'm working on is to try and give all of my winnings back to the nice people at the casino before I leave so they can keep sending me comp tickets to come back and spend more money with them.

The almost one month of vacation continues, actually tomorrow starts the almost part. I will be working this week on the day shift. Vacation resumes next Saturday.

I just happend to notice that my journal has passed the 10,000 visitor mark, Wow... who would have ever thought?

Thank all of you for visiting me here and for leaving your great comments behind, I consider many of the friendships I have made here a real blessing.

a night out with the girls sounds like a lot of fun...we dont go to the casino very often but when we do go we do the same thing as u do...in fact i leave my purse in the car so i am not tempted to take another 5 or 10 out here and there...we take just as much as we can throw down the toilet for that week and thats it! and i also do what u do and that is i dont usually leave until i have given back my winnings to the casino as my contribution LOL have a nice sunday..

Do not gamble myself.  Mainly because I am not a lucky person like that.  Never win on competitions, lottery etc. etc. My mum was always the lucky one like that but it did not rub off!

I am a sore loser so I do not really gamble. We go down to Biloxi, MS every now and then and I usually have my allotted $20 or $40 (if I am feeling generous) to blow away on the quarter slot machines and after that I wait till my hubby loses his then we go to the beach for a walk. Looks like you are having a blast with your vacation. Keep on living, Coy! You are an independent woman and having fun doing it too! For that, I salute you!

I agree with the gambling thing - just take whatever money you are willing to lose and count as entertainment money. If you come out ahead, then great, you have some to take next time! xoxo

I am with you on Gambeling.  I cry if I lose $10 in quarters at the slots.  I live right across the river from a cassino.  Its a good thing I dont gamble!  Too much temptation.   ~Happy Holidays~   K

I love going to casinos. It's like visiting another planet. It would be so fun to go and be treated like a high roller, if only once. Good rules to follow. I try. But sometimes I do visit the ATM once (or twice). LOL

Oh not me, sister. I am exactly what a casino hopes for: a bug-bitten sucker. I get the fever for the flavor of the chips.. and I don't mean Pringles.. I go apeshit until I am broke. That's why I steer clear of those halls of sin... I like gay bars better.. at least there you gamble that you aren't going to wake up next to a "coyote date".. Meaning a date that was pretty last night, but in the sober, cold dawn, you see that you were way wrong. You'd rather chew your arm off than wake him up.

LOL  Gambling is one thing I've never had the stomach for.  Even if I only lose 10 bucks, it's still 10 bucks!!!  I start thinking of all the things I could have bought with that 10 bucks.  Then I mourne the loss of the ten bucks.  Then I get mad at myself for losing the 10 bucks.  It's just a big mess.  LOL  But I can see how some people enjoy it.  Anytime I hear of someone coming back from the casino, having won $1000 or something like that, I'm always jealous.  But I'd have to lose at least 10 bucks to win $1000, so it would never work for me.  LOL
