Tsunami ... tsoo-nah-mee

A few days ago I did not know what a Tsunami was and today I wish I still didn't.

 Quiet surf near Pompano Beach

11 Nations ... Death toll rising over 77,000 today ... fears that it may reach over 100,000 before this is over ... this is devastation like we have never known before ... it's been hard to think of anything else this week.

I've just felt this overwhelming quietness knowing how helpless we really are against Mother Nature's fury. This past year those of us here in Florida got an upclose and personal look at her relentless power during the multiple hurricanes she chose to unleash on us.

Sometimes she will flex her muscle to cause drought, flood, tornado, earthquake, volcano, forest fire, mudslide, blizzard, avalanche, heat wave or famine ... did I leave anything out?

I know these things are not news to any of you ... I just needed say them ...

this is so sad...such a waste of life...lives...my husband showed me a picture tonight...of a little girl...about 8 years old...she was dirty and had tear stained eyes and face...she held a sign that said...i am alone...looking for both of my parents and my 2 brothers...please help me find them....that tore my heart apart....how sad....no words can even describe how sad...if any of us can afford to send something to help then please do....even a small donation...anything we can afford...will help....small or big...we need to ban together as fellow human beings...

Yes, the devastation that those poor people are facing is almost too much to take in.  It's so sad and it's definitely something that we all probably need to talk about.  There are so many residual problems that will occur from this.  I have been thinking about the fact that there are probably children who became orphans this past weekend.  :-(  It's too sad to think about, but somehow has to and I hope that those who can will step up and adopt them and hopefully help them to start new lives and begin to heal.

Each time I see the news about this disaster
my heart just breaks.  Last night on ABC they
did a show about the tsunami, and this one
image of a mother holding her dead child
choked me up beyond belief.
Mother Nature is not a respecter of persons
thats for sure.
Love you Coy,
Connie
