I made a Costco run after work yesterday to pick up new snorkel gear that my friend David recommended. I love when someone else does all of the research and leg work picking out something really great and then all you have to do is go get one of your own. Thanks Dave.
While I was there I ran into my sister (imagine that). We did some shopping, looked at the orchids and then she invited me over to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with some friends that I had not seen in way to long. YAY!
No, the party was not at the Cathedral of Puebla, there were no Grand Parades, no
Mariachi Bands and Dancers and there were no Aztecs reenacting the battle of Cinco de Mayo but we did use it as an excuse to indulge in Grand Fiesta.
Good friends Good Music and plenty of Guacamole. (Useless Trivia) the Aztecs consider the avocado to be an aphrodisiac; they are great for facials and massage as well.
We had Fajitas and although I dont eat skirt steak or chicken, there was also plenty of shrimp and Mahi Mahi, Mango Salsa, Jalapeños, Guacamole, Sour Cream and the works.
We did the same as many American Latinos and used the 5th of May as an excuse to celebrate Mexican Culture; their food, their music and their customs. Ole!

Mmmmm. Sounds like da bomb! There's not much celebrating of Cinco de Mayo in these parts and I kind of miss it. Ahhh. Good times. Good times!
I just learned to really like the mango salsa. I was also surprised to see that in Miami, many restaurants call Mahi Mahi, dolphin. It took me a little emotional jump to get over that. By Cinco de Mayo I was all partied out between Miami and New Ahleans.
