Rebecca

I just got off the phone with an old friend, we talked for over an hour as if we were 18 years old again. It was almost like nothing of great importance had happened since the last time we saw each other and that was 25 years ago.

The conversation was fast paced and exciting as we bounced memories back and forth of a shared adventure of a life time that took place so very long ago.

There have been 4 or 5 other phone calls over the years so we were not completely in the dark about some of the major events in each others lives like husbands, children and divorce.

Rebecca only lives about 25 miles away, isn't it sad how sometimes we just don't make the time to nurture the friendships that we do have in the business of our everyday lives.

I found out that she will be moving away in just a matter of weeks, seems like I caught her just in time. I guess that making the time to catch up with an old friend is the silver lining in the dark clouds of this hurricane day.

I'm going to be posting some old photos that will be a reminder of the old friends, old memories and the really great story that we share. More details later.

Grateful for cabin fever on a hurricane day in South Florida.

It's so nice talking again to old friends...I have a friend I talk to every now and then from HS and when we talk we fill each other in on what is going on in our lives...we live too far apart now to visit each other but our friendship will always be special and I know this is a friend I will have for the rest of my life...I can't wait to see your pictures!

I can't believe I haven't happened in here until now. I see your comments at Freee's all the time but have kept my head in the sand. I love your journal. It has an instant air of comfort. Thanks for stopping by. Hopefully, you can see your friend before she moves and won't let the added miles add even more distance.

I often wonder what happened to my friend
Tracy that I knew when I was 14.  We were the
best of friends.  I ran across her picture the
other day while looking at old photo albums.
It seems she has dropped off the face of the
earth.
Great entry Coy!

There's really only one friend that I've lost contact with that I'd really like to find again - Elizabeth.  We were best friends in High School and we had an on again, off again relationship afterwards.  Eventually, we found we didn't have as much in common as we thought. She could be volatile and distant, and I was busy with my family, so we parted ways.  But I still think about her almost everyday.  And I wonder what she's up to, how she's doing, etc.  I wouldn't begin to know how to contact her, though.

Anyway.. this entry made me think of her. So thank you.  I love the photo and I hope, maybe, you're able to go and see her before she leaves.  ::smile::

Coy, this is a powerful entry.  The picture of Rebecca is gorgeous - angellic.  25 years and 25 miles - wow.  I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures and reading stories of your lives together.

I got to see several old friends from many years ago when I returned to Indiana.  It was as if no time had passed when we talked.  :-)  I really should keep the connection open.

Beautiful picture.

What a beautiful picture and I've had the chance to catch up with friends I haven't seen or heard from since high school.  It's kind of fun and I am glad you caught her before she moved.
